Kyle McDonald is an artist working with code. He creates interactive and immersive audiovisual installations, performances, and new tools for creative exploration. He uses techniques from computer vision, machine learning, networking, and computing to create unusual experiences.

What happens when we collaborate with algorithms to tell stories, or expand our creativity and curiosity? What happens when these algorithms act less like simple predictable tools, and take on identities, biases, and nuances of their own? How far can we take it? What are the consequences of completely automating social interaction itself? Where does the machine end, and where do we begin? This talk will explore how recent developments in artificial intelligence are changing the ways that researchers solve problems and creative people ask questions: touching everything from the latest academic research and media art to ancient myths and eternal philosophical questions.
