Based in Ljubljana, Robertina Šebjanic is working in the cross field of art, technology and science. Her art and research focus is since several years with cultural, (bio) political, chemical and biological realities of aquatic environments, which serves as a starting point to investigate and tackle the philosophical questions on the intersection of art, technology and science. Her ideas and concepts are often realized in collaboration with others, through interdisciplinary and informal integration in her work. She is a member of Hackteria Network and Theremidi Orchestra and she is also part of SHAPE platform 2017. Sounds of Troubled Worlds = Songs for Serenity
Robertina’s work deals predominantly with cultural, (bio)political and biological realities of aquatic environments as she does that in her series of works Aurelia 1+Hz, Aquatocene and Aqua_forensic.
Within the lecture Šebjanič will speak more about her of work Aurelia 1+Hz and will present the installation that in on the show at the KIKK festival and also the second part of the project the audio visual performance.
Improved living conditions in a technologically advanced world enables us to live significantly longer than in the past centuries. But the question is how this coexistence and relationship is going to be shaped in the future. The work Aurelia 1+Hz / proto viva generator (2014) addresses the coexistence of human animals and machines in this “new normal” situation. The most substantial aims of the audiovisual performance Aurelia 1+Hz / proto viva sonification (2015) are to explore the phenomena of interspecies communication, sonification of the environment and the underwater acoustic/ bioacoustics.
Slavko Glamočanin will present a deep insight into the programming of the tracking system he did develop for the tracking of jellyfish in the aquariums and its connection to the robotic sculpture.
