Nathalie Blanc is a research director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). She is the director of the LADYSS laboratory of the CNRS and is based at the University of Paris Diderot 7. A pioneer of ecocriticism in France, she has published and coordinated research programs in fields such as nature in the city, environmental aesthetics and environmental mobilization. A founding member of the French Environmental Humanities Portal, she was also, from 2011 to 2015, the French delegate of the European research network COST "Investigating cultural sustainability" and is then delegate of the European COST programme on new materialism "How Matter Matters" (2016-2019). She published the book Form, art, and environment: engaging in sustainability, published by Routledge in 2016. Other selected publications include: "Literature and Ecology. Towards an eco-poetry" with T. Pughe and D. Chartier, in Ecology and Politics. Ecoplasties. Art and Environment. With Julie Ramos, 2010, Manuella. Towards environmental aesthetics, 2008, Quae. She is also an artist and curator, currently working on the theme of ecological fragility. In 2014, she was curator of the exhibition "Ce qui fait la fragilité" at Galerie Vivo Equidem.
