About

ASCIIMaton

ASCIImaton is a photobooth with a twist: your portrait is printed in ASCII Art, a technique that uses only alphanumerical characters to represent images, on an old 80’s dot matrix printer, a machine that lies between a typewriter and our familiar inkjet printers. This project blends old and new technologies and allows users to get an original portrait while offering a tender look on obsolete machines.
