?Ton/2
πTon/2 is a sound installation that is in line with Cod.Act's research on mechanical and sound organicity. It results from an experiment on the deformation of an elastic form and its impact on the evolution of an instrumental work.
The object is a flexible ring closed on itself. It is set in motion by torsional forces created by motors distributed inside its body. It twists, undulates and moves in a very natural and unpredictable manner.
Its sounds, based on a low bass clarinet sound, evolve with the movements and are diffused by loudspeakers placed inside the ring. The slow undulations produce low, carnal sounds comparable to long breaths, while the sudden movements produce high-pitched sounds that run through the body like nervous flows.
